We’ve been endorsing small business loans as a Kiva trustee since 2014. We were initially able to endorse loans up to $10,000, but we were recently given the opportunity to endorse loans up to $25,000! Join our lending team to follow along with local loans that we endorse.
We’re pleased to share that we are endorsing our first $25,000 loan for one of our local businesses, Leona’s Ice Cream. Leona’s moved to Wilkinsburg a few years ago, and though they don’t have a storefront, you can find their treats at local spots like Nancy’s East End Diner and the East End Food Co-op, among many other locations.
A loan of $25,000 will help Leona’s recover from a recent total loss of inventory following a freezer failure. Additionally, funds will help support their growth this spring.
