Strong II Dry Cleaners, a third-generation family-owned dry-cleaning company, is hiring a part-time delivery driver for our Homewood location.
Estimated Schedule Monday-Friday; varying hours between 9am-6pm; Possibly Saturdays varying hours between 10:30 am-3:30 pm *schedule is as needed.
Pay: $15/hr
Objective: To execute pickup and delivery orders.
Vibe: You will be the face of the company outside of the store. We are looking for someone who is an outgoing and engaging self-starter, while also maintaining a level of empathy and humility when dealing with customers and co-workers. This job requires thinking quickly on your feet, problem solving with staff for clients in a timely, efficient, and courteous manner.
Duties:
- Wear company uniform. Be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the uniform
- Driving to pick up and delivery destinations
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Loading and unloading orders to and from the delivery vehicle & store
- Confirm delivery orders are correct prior to loading
- Keeping pick up orders organized and labeled
- Folding & Packaging wash and fold orders, if needed
- Operating Order Tracking Apps
- Operating Google Maps
- Texting and/or calling customers as needed
- Following customer instructions for delivery and pick up
- Collecting payment as needed
- Tracking deliveries with photo attachments
- Following all driving laws
- Staying in close communication with staff at store
- Accessing the store in off hours, and locking up, as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Valid auto insurance
- Excellent communication skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- No smoking of any source
- Proper hygiene and appearance
- Comfortable with physical labor; ability to easily lift and carry at least 50 up and down steps without becoming unbalanced
- Comfortable and experienced with smart phones and computers
