Lifestyles with Debbie Norrell | Attention Soul Pitt Shoppers

Are you ready for some retail therapy? Are you tired of going to the grocery store, Walmart and Home Depot? For me the answer is yes. Please let me get back to a store where I can buy some fashionable merchandise even though I have nowhere to wear it. Now that is the crazy part I want to go shopping and have been shopping on line but every event that I could wear the item to has been cancelled. I guess I’m just trying to get back to my normal. Not anyone else’s normal but mine. For those of you that enjoy shopping you should see some stores opening again soon. I noticed that some boutiques in Shadyside are planning to open May 15 or 16 as well as some boutiques in Fox Chapel on Brilliant Ave. Last week I attended a virtual town hall meeting with Senator Jay Costa. It was a good question and answer meeting and if you get a phone call to attend a meeting like this do not hang up when they call to schedule you. Listen and decide if you want to attend. These are our elected officials at work. What I learned on this meeting is if a store in the mall has a door that leads out to the sidewalk or parking lot they can be open during the yellow period. Like a Macy’s or J. C. Penny. They both can be entered without going into the mall. Personally I do not agree with this but this is the way it is during the yellow period. I understand they do not want a big mob at the malls. I think I will do my shopping early and shop at the smaller stores. Be safe out there and wear your mask.
