Eating out is something that I enjoy but sometimes I ask myself is it worth it. I enjoyed the meal but then I think I could have fixed this at home and saved money and possibly had leftovers for the next day. Recently I was dining out and I said to my boyfriend you know what really inflates the bill, it’s the Alcohol or beverages other than water and appetizers. After he looked at our bill he immediately agreed with me. I like going to the Olive Garden. I am never disappointed, and I always have leftovers. On our last visit there we decided to order an appetizer. Why I don’t know? I have always found that if I order an appetizer then I don’t have room for my meal. These restaurants know that you come into the place hungry, so they sell you an appetizer to eat while you are waiting for your main entrée. And while they are at it, they show you pictures of pretty drinks that look very refreshing. I don’t drink alcohol, but those pretty non-alcoholic drinks look so good in the picture. More often than not, I have water with lemon. When you decide to splurge your bill increases by 20 percent or more. So, this is what I have decided I am going to stay away from the appetizer and the sugary drinks. I don’t need them. In the future I may make a meal with just the appetizers. Here is a funny story, I went to dinner with a friend for my birthday and when we looked at the menu we were shocked at the prices. I told her let’s leave quickly before they come to take our order. But she said no so we decided to split a meal, and they charged us for sharing an entrée. That was so funny we learned our lesson and now go online and read the menu first.
