I love to eat out, as a matter of fact, I enjoy going out and going out gives me an opportunity to wear something from my vast collection of clothing. Getting a compliment from a stranger on a well put together outfit is gratifying. Last week I took a friend out to eat for her birthday. This birthday dinner is a tradition for us. We pick a great place to eat and put on something pretty.
Here is what’s funny, the people that give us compliments look like they have just finished working in their garden or are going to the laundry. Why don’t people put on some nice clothes? I don’t get it. Clothes are so inexpensive and easy to obtain. People are way too casual for me. I like to get dressed up, especially when I go out to dinner. Why wear jeans and t-shirts everywhere when you can put on a nice dress or some nice pants and a blazer? Clothes are so much fun.
Charlie Wilson was just in Pittsburgh, and it was a “white party” themed concert. Sometimes these white parties can be tricky especially if your wardrobe consists of many shades of white. When I think of summer white, I think of Styrofoam cup white but definitely white. The best time to buy your white outfits is at the end of the summer season and put it away for the next year. This way you aren’t scrambling around trying to find something at the last minute. And speaking of themes, if the invitation says “gala” that means an evening dress either cocktail or a formal gown. Just because the dress is long doesn’t make it dressy. Do not wear a maxi dress that you would wear to the grocery store to the gala. Let’s get dressed up.
