The Ebony Canal Film: Narrated by Academy Award Winner, Viola Davis | July 19th at The August Wilson African American Cultural Center

Emmy Award Winning Filmmaker, Emmai Alaquiva is inviting the community, national and local press to attend a special screening of ‘The Ebony Canal’ a feature documentary film narrated by Academy Award Winner, Viola Davis. Directed by Emmy Award Winning filmmaker, Emmai Alaquiva.

This is a documentary film featuring Mariah Peoples, Larissa Lane, Alana Yzola-Daly and Rachel Strader that examines the HERstoric portal between the disparities of infant mortality and the current state of maternal health orbiting Black women. Despite the undercurrents, the mission aims to give birth to a new wave of solution-driven practices. The vision is to move maternal health forward in the journey to save Black mothers and Black babies.

$9 representing 9 months and proceeds will go to 9 organizations that champion Infant Mortality, a crucial sector of Black Maternal Health.
