Sugar not so sweet by Debbie Norrell

I remember writing a column about the dangers of excessive sugar and salt. I was talking a good game but at the time I’m not sure I was following my own advice. Fast forward to 2025 and I decided I wanted to try and lose about 5 to 8 pounds. I happened to see a Facebook post from Yvette Royal of Anastasias Crown that spoke about weight loss. I was familiar with her and decided to try her program. It was a 30-day program, and it was affordable. I had been trying national programs off and on and found that I was still making monthly payments to one even though I was not using it. I followed the instructions that Yvette gave me and lo and behold I started to see a change in my daily weigh ins. Yes, I get on the scale each morning and if you are trying to lose weight or wanting to maintain your weight, I suggest you do the same. Weighing in each day is how I saw that I was gaining weight. Not only that, but I also saw a difference in how my clothes fit. The best feature of her plan was the accountability feature. I got to interact with a live human being and talk about my concerns. Also, I was able to see how bad my eating habits had become. So, if you have been struggling with your weight try a program with an accountability feature that allows you to speak to a live person. The program I was in was for 30 days and I lost about 6 pounds, and I was not exercising. I now know what to do and I am adding walking to my program. I am excited about the future.
