[slickr-flickr tag=”compton” items=”40″ type=”slideshow” id=”40686714@N07″] Imagine being in Dormont PA at the small 1 screen Hollywood theater and meeting more stars and pro-athletes in one night than the average Pittsburgher had all year. That’s what it was like at the Pittsburgh premiere of the movie “Christmas in Compton” which was Co-produced by Pittsburgh locals Paula Gregg and Susan Burig. The set up was really nice with White Diamond Vodka giving free samples in martini glasses filled with strawberries, raspberries and of course the dangerously smooth White Diamond Vodka and a splash of cranberry juice – which was the signature drink for the night, along with plenty cookies and other sweet treats. There were also plenty of items for the raffle. Lucky winners won autographed footballs, bags, gift baskets and other prizes. But the highlight of course was the red carpet that was graced by Pittsburgh Steelers Charlie Batch, Chris Rainey, NY Giants Hakeem Nicks, actors Omar Gooding (Yep, Cuba’s brother), Miguel Nunez and actress Portia Porscha Coleman who were all part of the cast. You had to be there…even the former editor of Vibe Magazine Danyel Smith was in the house along with Actor Carl Clemons. It was a star studded night, full of limos and VIPs and the bottom line is that it all helped to raise money for the Hurricane Sandy victims and the legendary Hollywood Theater.
