Starting Salary: $42,000

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
As the Community Engagement Lead, you will lead the support and retention of girl members by creating, coordinating, and ensuring the delivery of quality Girl Scout Leadership Experience for girl members from grades K-12 who participate in the Community Engagement programs. The Lead serves as a liaison between the program location and Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania. The Lead facilitates programming primarily in Allegheny, Beaver, Greene, and Washington Counties, and leads a team of Community Engagement Facilitators who provide programming in Cambria and Erie Counties and throughout our council footprint.
The essential functions of this position include the following:
- Ensure the Girl Scout Leadership Experience is being implemented at our sites, ensure staffing is in place, ensure guest speakers and engagement outings (camping, cultural outings, trips) are planned as needed.
- Recruit, train, and manage part-time staff and the volunteers who work with girls to ensure delivery of age-appropriate programming that is fun and engaging to girl members, and follows all safety guidelines.
- Supervise and support a team of Community Engagement Facilitators (part-time staff).
- Assist with the development of curriculum and additional program activities using Girl Scout badges and journey guides.
- Maintain documentation to include attendance records, girl and volunteer applications, outcome and assessment tools, program withdrawals or dismissals, Girl Scout registration information, weekly program reports, and health history forms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team in achieving the council’s membership goals by ensuring the development, coordination and delivery of quality events, curricula, and additional resources as driven by market needs.
- Work with community partners to recruit girl members.
- Cultivate and vet community partnerships and relationship to enhance the girl and volunteer member benefits and programming which leads to improved retention.
- Responsible for the review of budgets to ensure adherence to approved programs.
- Ensure Girl Scouting is open to all girls by delivering the Girl Scout message of inclusion and diversity.
Requirements:
- Degree is Human Services or related equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience managing staff and/or volunteers
- Experience in a related field with proven effective community development, marketing and membership results
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines and benchmarks
- Top notch communicator and can confidently present to large groups
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Teams, and Outlook and ability to learn new systems
- Must be organized, detail orientated, and customer focused
- Ability and willingness to work primarily on-the-road with minimal time in office
- Potential candidates should be comfortable traveling throughout the designated areas on a regular basis
- Able to work flexible hours to include days, frequent evenings, and some weekends
- Have reliable transportation
