Did you attend the preview of the August Wilson Center?  If you didn’t, you really missed out.  It was a HUGE Success…thousands of people came out to support it!  Not only was the turnout great, the weather was perfect, the food was good, the people were happy, the vendors had great things for sale and display and the staff and volunteers were organized and on point.  It was like a great big reunion.  I saw people I hadn’t seen in years.  The most important thing that people were saying to me was that this is for us and they were so proud of it.  I am so glad that I got to attend the event as a volunteer.  It really gave me the opportunity to interact with so many people and feel their excitement and anticipation for the August Wilson Center to open. 

One man was planning his weekly visits to the café, others talked about attending the shows in the grand theatre, and some wanted to know how they can volunteer to work here when it opened.  I urge you all to support the August Wilson Center, become a member and attend their events.  This is for us….and as JJ from Good Times would say…it’s Dyn-o-mite!  Now check out the pics!  – and leave a comment below to let us know what you thought about the event!   Click here to continue, see pics and comment below!
