The bright yellow storefront of Look Good Smell Good sparks curiosity of customers on the main street of New Brighton, Pennsylvania. Tantalizing aromas beckon shoppers into an experience unlike any other in the region. A first of its kind for Beaver County, the Black owned multi-faceted store boasts holistic and herbal products, body care, a barber shop, and in the coming months will be home to a highly anticipated beauty salon with a pedicure/manicure station, and whole-body massages.

Proprietor D. LaRee Scott, better known as Prophet, shared how his God-given vision became a reality when he relocated to Beaver County in March 2016 from the New York/New Jersey area. Before opening the business Prophet and his family fed and clothed the homeless and continue to as part of their ministry. He and his wife Carolyn have 4 sons and 6 daughters.

The 5th degree Black Belt and former professional bodyguard shared, “I am healed, delivered, set free! God brought me out!” Prophet shares his powerful testimony and how he overcame personal medical conditions with customers, whom he often councils both nutritionally and spiritually. His guidance has helped many people eliminate illnesses, including diabetes and high blood pressure. Having learned the art of homeopathic and wholistic healing, Prophet helps customers achieve maximum health through addressing their physical issues from a holistic perspective. Recommendations are made for specialized regimens and enhanced diets, based on individual needs. “I want to impart knowledge to people so they know how to equip their bodies physically, spiritually, and mentally. Learning is not hard. Anything we do in life is by choice.” His plans for the near future include conducting in person and online seminars, hosting a podcast, and implementing other forms of international outreach.

Once all renovations are complete there will be a grand opening celebration. With hundreds of products, including authentic handbags and vintage jewelry, customers will find something new each time they visit. “Currently I have over 43 different types of shea butters, 3 different coconut oils, 4 different coco butters, 85 different soaps, like clay soaps, moist line, and pure butter soaps.” Natural Afrocentric shampoos and hair oils, like Chebe oils, perfumes, and incense are also available. Customers can shop at the store, place orders for pick up or delivery, or have products mailed. Stop in for unique gifts and gift baskets, which can also be mailed throughout the United States. The gift baskets can be personally customized, and make perfect holiday, birthday, and special occasion gifts. Their 11-year-old son John-John created the website and Facebook page, so be sure to like them on Facebook to stay informed about new products, upcoming specials, information, and festivities.

Look Good Smell Good is also a Wish.com pick up station, providing a valuable resource for the neighborhood. Store hours are: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM (EST) Monday – Saturday and closed on Sunday. Look for the bright yellow storefront at: 803 3rd Avenue, New Brighton, Pennsylvania, 15066.
