Perhaps I should have saved this column for Mother\u2019s Day, but the subject is trending now, so I decided to go for it. If you are a social media or news junkie, I\u2019m sure you have been watching the news stories about Puffy, Puff Daddy, Sean P. Diddy Combs. Officers in what appeared to be tanks, armed with numerous guns, raided both of his estates. I\u2019m not clear on the allegations, but it looks very serious, and a lot of people are now coming forward with their sides of what they think has happened and what Puffy did to them. Do you remember many years ago, when Puffy was gaining popularity, he was often seen with his mother? She was always very fashionable. When I see stories like this, I often wonder: What does Puffy\u2019s mother think of this mess? Does anyone try to interview the mother? I guess you are saying that does not happen when we are dealing with adults. It\u2019s not like the parents that were recently charged for buying their underage son a gun. A friend of mine used to say, \u201cThere is nothing like a mother’s love.\u201d Which appears to be true, most mothers don\u2019t and won\u2019t believe anything negative about their child. But you know, when the mothers of these high-profile people see their sons and daughters in the news, they say to themselves, Did my child really do that? I still wonder what Will Smith\u2019s mother thought during the slap felt around the world. I met Will\u2019s mother and interviewed her many years ago. She graduated from a Pittsburgh high school (Westinghouse High School) and was\/is very proud of her son. As she should be, but the \u201cslap\u201d was a game changer for his career. This is just another thing that makes me go, hmmmm. Hey, I\u2019m wondering if my inventory of Sean Jean shirts has lost value or gone up in value. I\u2019ll keep you posted.<\/p>\n
