Mystique Romance open for submissions - Mystique Romance is a new line through Ocean's Mist Press. 

We are accepting all sub-genre of Romance. We are looking for stories that are unique and that they also have a happy ending (a happy ending is a must).  We will be accepting stories featuring musicians, actors, artists & sports figures. We also accept romances set in big cities like New York, Philadelphia, etc. We expect that the proper research has been done and you know enough about your chosen industry to craft a credible story.

We're also looking for the tried-and-true plotlines (i.e., CEO/Company Raider take over, Secret baby, Doctor/Nurse or Amnesia stories, Alpha males) as long as you add your own voice to the story. 

Our romance novels should have plenty of passion embedded into the manuscript.  The amount of passion will be up to the writer. Explicit scenes are fine, but we will not accept any form of degradation to women. We will not accept gratuitous sex scenes, nor rape and violence is another huge taboo between the hero and heroine (our readers do not want to read stories featuring an abusive hero).  We offer the freedom to our writers of expressing themselves in their own voice and do not obligate you to stick to monogamous relationships within your writing, but there should be a plausible reason for the characters stepping outside the relationship.

What our current needs are:

Novellas. From 15-25, 000 words.

Contemporary. From 50,000 words. The sky's the limit. We want to see well-developed characters and ingenious storylines.

Historicals. From 50,000 words. We're interested in Americana and English based stories.

Romantic Suspense. From 60,000 words. We're looking for hot, spicy mystery and suspenseful stories.

Paranormal. From 35,000 words. We're interested in time travel, reincarnation, ghost stories, vampires/werewolves, and fantasy tales.

Chick Lit. From 30,000 word. We want chick lit that has an upbeat ending.

We will accept submissions for completed manuscripts only. The only fonts and sizes you should be using are Times New Roman 12pt. Please use one-inch margins all the way around. Place your title/last name and contact information at cover page only.  No other headers or footers should be saved on the document.

We respond to queries within one week, regular submissions within one month, and complete manuscript review within three months. If submissions become unusually heavy, it may take a little longer.
