{"id":228,"date":"2008-08-27T03:51:01","date_gmt":"2008-08-27T03:51:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesoulpitt.com\/spiritual\/?p=228"},"modified":"2008-10-02T03:03:08","modified_gmt":"2008-10-02T03:03:08","slug":"women-of-pittsburgh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thesoulpitt.com\/spiritual\/women-of-pittsburgh\/","title":{"rendered":"Women of Pittsburgh 2000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" align=\"left\" width=\"400\" src=\"http:\/\/wpgh2k.org\/mediac\/400_0\/media\/DIR_123\/Good$20Morning.jpg\" height=\"266\" style=\"width: 373px; height: 229px\" \/>Women of Pittsburgh 2000 is a group of Christian women who formed as an outgrowth of the 1993 Billy Graham crusade held here in Pittsburgh.\u00a0 Inter-racial &#8220;sister groups&#8221; were created by pairing three women from a predominantly Black church with three women from a predominantly White church.\u00a0 Those groups\u00a0 meet monthly for dialogue and fellowship to help break down barriers&#8230;..the purpose is to develop close relationships and to better understand cultures, families, churches and communities.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSt. Mark AME Church, Wilkinsburg is teamed up with Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church in Fox Chapel.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe meeting times and places of each sister group is entirely up to that group, and the makeup of each group is also evolving&#8230;.There is one group with six members who represent six different churches&#8230;.the important thing is that the group is integrated.The WP2000 board is scheduling quarterly Sister to Sister Saturdays in different regions to keep in touch with current members , worship in song and a guest speaker, or view tapes that will spark honest discussion on race and how Christ would want us to live.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThis is our way of staying in touch with our sisters and\u00a0 reaching out to others who want to know more.
