Where are you from?  I am from Lincoln-Lemington and a proud graduate of Westinghouse High School class of 1989

How long in operation:    Since Oct. 2005

How did you get started?  I was actually a Controller for Applebee's restaurant for 11 years - up until the franchise was sold...  I gained valuable knowledge and experience during my time there...After leaving Applebee's I formed my own company - I began working on my concept and my business plan... I was later able to attain some financing and finally in Oct. 2005 we opened our doors...

What inspired you to do this?

I always wanted to have my own business and I really didn’t want a job... I could deal with failing but I couldn't deal with not trying...  I am a people person with a passion for sports and cooking - so to be able to combine these things and make a living - is truly a blessing... It’s also important to give back and be active in the community you serve which this business will allow me to do in so many ways.

What is the hardest part of your job?

I don’t look at it as a job... It’s my own business and though it is hard I don’t view it the same simply because I am working for myself.  However, to answer the question... IT’S ALL HARD!!!!

If you had time to do something else on the side, what would it be?

I would be a teacher. I would like to be an accounting / business education teacher - which I plan on doing in the future. 

Do you have any advice for others interested in your line of work?

Make sure you research thoroughly any endeavor you take on - make sure you have the proper financing to do so - especially working capital... Lastly, don’t let anything or anyone deter you from doing what you want to do.  Surround yourself with good positive people.

What do you like about Pittsburgh?

What I like about Pittsburgh is its potential - I have visions of what Pittsburgh could be but I realize we have a lot of work to do to get there.

What one thing would you change about Pittsburgh?

The “we have always done it this way mentality”.  The lack of change in Pittsburgh and the fact that in Pittsburgh we always seem to be 5 paces behind other major cities.
