MEET LESLIE "EZRA" SMITH
© Copyright 2005. All rights reserved. Leslie "Ezra" Smith is a Pittsburgh native who began acting in 1994 for A.R.C.H. Productions, performing in "Hitting Home". His most recent performances include "The Founder's Play" as Tony during the National Society of Black Engineers' conference at The David Lawrence Convention Center (2006) ,the world premiere of The Pittsburgh Playwrights Theater Company production of 'Hoodwinked' as Wayne (2006), and recently, "Sing Black Hammer" as Carter for Kuntu Repertory Theater (2006). Ezra has also been a nationally performing Spoken Word artist since 2000 performing in local and national venues, national poetry slams, and community peace rallies.

I'm celebrating this day as a new life, a new way of growing and embracing the love that I Am. I have no regrets. I only have tears of fearless dancing in the streets, not looking back, not looking forward, but looking within. Thank you for joining me today. I have no meaning without you. I have no way to experience this love without you. I used to seek smiles in stardust, seek hugs from the moon, seek laughter from the comets. But, your presence has reminded me that I'm not alone. Your presence has co-created with me the remembrance of unconditional love shared eternally with all, consciously or unconsciously, the same way you share your light with all, with no regards to our past, present, or future. I thank you, Sun of God. A Sincere Sigh of Readiness This is the end of fictitious smiles and frowns gathering support from erroneous belief systems based on fear-based love... I’ve conquered the conquest of ego-filled dreams and illusions of grandeur. I'm hugging the oasis of contemplation leading me down the road to glory... No more stories of tears, no more stories of fears...I’ve had enough of that fair weather trembling... I used to seek the approval of clouds, the scent of sunrays, the dance of rainbows, the ascension of raindrops in order to feel complete. But, I know now that they’re nothing without me and I’m nothing without them... My course in miracles has elevated me to a plane unobtainable to beliefs in flesh, beliefs in limited scopes of freedom, restricted embraces to fears only... I’m flying now, flying higher than I ever have before. My vision is clearer, my hearing is clearer, my definition of Self is clearer, my breathing is clearer... Yes, I can breathe, finally, totally, completely!! My praise is for the rising of the Son, the birth of my inner sun, the light ignited by your faith in me... The wait is over...I’m ready to be loved.
