Interview with Curtis and Cassandra Brown of Jireh Fashions
What does Jireh mean? Jireh means " God is my provider" and it's found in the first book of the bible Genesis chapter 22 verse 14. God has done so many things in our marriage and in our family so we love share what God has done for us.
What made you start this type of clothing line? The original and eternal purpose for Jireh clothing is to be a witnessing tool. We wanted to design clothing that would look good and give a powerful statement.
Who are the people involved? Curtis and Cassandra Brown are the owners.
How long have you been into business? 6 years
What else does your business do? Jireh Fashion carries a full line of clothing. (For example, we have T-shirts, sweatsuits in velour and fleece for men, womenand children, baseball caps, winter caps, as well as knit sweater and hat sets). Jireh Fashions also designs custom Jireh clothing for churches, youth groups, step troupes and mime groups. Call today to set your group apart when you perform -- "let your clothing speak before you say a word". We have two companies involved with Jireh Fashions. First there's Provider Entertainment and it concentrates on bringing gospel Hip-Hop artists to Pittsburgh and the parent company Jireh Business Development centers it's activities around business to business networking and resource pooling for local business owners and entrepreneurs.
Where can one find your clothing? (Here & outside of Pgh)- Right now we have clothing available at the Covenant Church Bookstore and you call us for info on new outlets and new styles that we are updating all the time.
Has Pittsburgh been very receptive? The people of Pgh have been very receptive to our clothing. We'd like to thank everyone that supports Jireh and we know God will bless you for believing in our vision.
What motivates you to keep pushing your product? Our desire to do God's will is the only thing drives Jireh Fashions. At Jireh, part of our mission is to try to "change the faces of fashion one soul at a time."
The scenario reads like this: "Hey I like that shirt dog, what does it say? -jyree or jurah" --"No it says (Jireh)" pronounced Ji-rah "What does that mean?" --"It means God provides me with everything I need, He's my source and I can go to Him and HE provides me with ALL that I need. You know he can do the same for you."
Do you have any advice for those trying to start a clothing line? First pray, always ask questions, be open to new ideas, and never give up.
When is the launch date for Jireh's new website? Dec-2003
