Grammatical Revolution In The Spirit
GRITS - Performing LIVE in September!
In just seven years, GRITS' Bonafide and Coffee have helped to take Christian rap from the pulpit to the mainstream, and with the release of their latest album, The Art of Translation, they are more poised than ever to reach a broad audience. Their music has been used as soundtrack material for TV shows (including MTV's The Real World, FOX's Boston Public and NBC's Third Watch) and a handful of independent films. Respected hip-hop publications such as The Source, Rap Pages and Rap Sheet have run features and favorable reviews, and the duo's videos have been placed in heavy rotation on MTV2 and BET's Rap City. Hip Hop plays a big influence on our youth. Unfortunately, there are negative elements often found in mainstream hip hop and rap. The Soul Pitt asks RADIO to consider interviewing GRITS and to play this type of music on the air at times. We ask TV & Print media to consider reporting on this show and similar hip hop events. This is hip hop music with a positive message. We encourage not only churches and Youth Groups to attend, but also those that are looking for a positive change in our music.

Check out what some youth & industry folks have to say about GRITS....
Wow, what can I say? Grits has totally changed my opinion about how 'Christian rap' sounds. I first came across them by seeing their music video for 'Here We Go' and i fell in love!! I never knew Christian rap music could be so great!!! I showed one of my non-Christian friends who is really into secular rap their video and he had to admit it was pretty tight!! I've never heard other Christian or secular rappers with beats as hot as theirs, or their powerful messages. - Christi
"The Grits bring the same energy their southern brethren Outkast bring, musical wizardry which sounds like an impossible cross between the West's DJ Quik, the South's Organized Noise, and the East's The Ummah: Crystal clear production with thunder, thick basslines and and an impressive arrangement of live instruments- Keyboards, Bass, Guitars, Piano, the whole 9." - El Surround
O wow! I’m so thankful that rap and hip-hop doesn't have to be dirty. That’s why I love these guys, they're awesome. It’s important that God's message gets across to all types of people who listen to all types of music. Grits makes this happen. I love listening to their music without having to worry about things I don't want to hear (like cussing). Thanks grits for putting forth the effort to make kids realize that Christian music doesn't have to be "boring". - Lola

Don't miss catching this up-and-coming hip-hop duo, straight from Nashville, Tennesee. GRITS has performed with CeCe Winans and Toby Mac. They’ll be performing cuts from their recently released album, 7, in our renovated sanctuary space where we hope to glorify God through their music and generate revenue to support our work with young people. www.pittsburghproject.org
