Book/Reading Clubs in Pgh and the Tri-State Area  The purpose of this ad is to establish contact with other book groups in the area for the purpose of developing a contact list that will be used to invite the groups to a social event (tentatively scheduled for May 15, 2004) that will include a book signing(s) with several local authors and an introduction to local African American book propietors. Looking for Volunteers to Read to Children  
We are truly in need of African American males and females to share their love of literacy and reading with our children in Pittsburgh.  Beginning with Books is seeking volunteers to read one-on-one to a child in one of nineteen different branches of a library. NORTHSHORE FOSTER CARE AGENCY Would you like to make a difference in the life of a child? Can you provide a loving home and stable environment? Do you have the time, the energy and the flexibility to be a foster parent? If so, North Shore Community Foster Care would like you to become a part of our team.  We are especially in need of foster homes that can accommodate sibling groups of two or more and families that are willing to provide care for older children.
