The Western Pennsylvania Diveristy Initiative will hold its first full-day Diversity and Inclusiveness Conference on Thursday, October 22nd at PNC Park featuring keynote speaker Dr. Melvin Gravely II from the Institute of Entrepreneurial Thinking.
Dr. Gravely has written several books including “The Lost Art of Entrepreneurship,” “When Black and White Make Green,” and his most recent, “Getting to the Next Level.”

 I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the Western Pennsylvania Diversity Initiative (WPDI) Board of Directors and Staff, to personally welcome you to the 2009 WPDI Diversity and Inclusiveness Conference. For many organizations, diversity has become a priority due to the shifting demographics of both the marketplace and the workforce. Diversity is not only perceived as the right thing to do, but it is essential for success. This Conference will further the Greater Pittsburgh Region’s dialogue on diversity and inclusion, and also provide organizations and individuals with the opportunity to engage in open dialog, learn and benchmark diversity best practices. One of WPDI’s goals is to encourage leaders to discuss issues, challenge attitudes, and promote organizational change that supports the ideals behind diversity and inclusive concepts.
