I am the Seed that has Survived
i am the wind
i am the seed
i am the fire
i am the water
i am - the earth queen.
i am a time traveler
our ancestors speak through me
generations rest within my soul
i am their vessel.
i am the one who walked
africa's dusty earth
built the pyramids
crossed the sands of the sahara
created medicine from the
plants and herbs
communed with the king of beasts.
i am whom villagers seek to
find their solace
and while they slept
i invaded their dreams
to slay their fears.
i reach and touch the weak, the sick, the unloved
and they were healed.
i am of royal birth
i am queen.
dress in purples and indigos
cradled by the warmth of the moon
my wrists bound in bangles of silver
my ankles anchored by silver chains
that chimes, when i fly.
i plant songs of freedom across continents
i lead warriors in dance
in shielded victories.
i am the one who witness the birth of religion in the burning sands
i am the one who knelt at the feet of the wise ones,
listened and served.
i am the one who was whipped, chained, lynched
i walked through the fire,
i am, the seed, that has survived.
i am the one
who holds the mystery of hate, love, sexuality and power
within my soul,
the green lush place where our ancestors rest
those who speak to me
guide me in flight above the trees
they share their secrets
i am the one
the chosen one
the earth queen.
